Nominations open for Women of the Year

Mayor Linda M. Balzotti and the Brockton Commission on Women’s Issues are now accepting nominations for the 2012 Women of the Year Awards.

The woman being nominated must be age 16 or older, a Brockton resident, and someone who has made a significant contribution outside of her job to the Brockton community within the last year.  Award recipients will be judged on their contributions made to residents of Brockton or to the city in general.

Nomination forms are available on the city web site (www.brockton.ma.us).

Nominations must be received by Wednesday, Feb. 22^nd, 2012. Please attach no more than a one page essay explaining why you are nominating this woman for an award.

No nomination will be accepted without a completed nomination form and attached essay.  Email nomination forms and essays are preferred.  Send all nomination forms and essays to: womenscommission@cobma.us.

The recipients of the 2012 Women of the Year Awards will be honored at the annual Women of the Year Award Breakfast scheduled for Saturday, March 10^th at the Shaw’s Center, 1 Feinberg Way, Brockton.
