• How do I get a copy of a birth certificate?

  If you're a resident of Brockton, just come to the City Clerk's Office at City Hall and give them your name and date of birth.  There is a $20 fee (cash or money order only, personal checks are not accepted).  If you are out of town, send a letter with your name and date of birth to the City Clerk's Office,  45 School St., Brockton, Mass. 02301 along with the $20 fee (cash or money order only, personal checks are not accepted).

  If the birth certificate is for a child you must send a notarized letter with the child's name and date of birth along with a copy of the parent's ID and the $20 fee (cash or money order only, personal checks are not accepted) to the City Clerk's Office, 45 School St., Brockton, Mass. 02301.

• How do I change the Name/Address on my Tax Bill?

  Contact the Assessors' Office at (508) 580-7194 with the correct information.

• Where do I get a dog/hunting/fishing license?

  Dog/hunting/fishing licenses can all be obtained from the Elections Commission at City Hall.

  For a dog license bring or mail a copy of the rabies certificate to the Registrar of Voters (Elections Commission) at City Hall. The fee is $20 for the yearly license, or $8 if you show proof that your pet has been spayed or neutered.

• Where can I pay my Real Estate/Utility Bill?

  Payments can be made at the Tax Collectors Office, located in the basement of City Hall, 45 School St., or online on the city's web site - go to the Online Services tab, and select Pay a Bill.

• Do I need a permit for a Yard Sale?

  Yes, permits must be purchased at the City Clerk's Office, located on the first floor of City Hall, 45 School St.

• Where can I obtain a Recycle bin?

  Recycling bins can be picked up at the Recycling Depot, 301 Oak Hill Way, just behind Sergeant's Plaza.

• Where do I get building permits?

  Some applications can be obtained online, but all applications must be brought to the Building Department, located on the third floor of City Hall, 45 School St.

• Where do I pay past due parking tickets?

  Parking tickets can be paid in the Deputy Tax Collector's office, room B-4, located in the basement of City Hall, 45 School St., during normal business hours (Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.). Parking tickets can also be paid online -  go to the Online Services tab, and select Pay a Bill.  Please have your ticket number and license plate number ready.

• How do I get a copy of a marriage certificate/wedding license?

  These documents can be obtained at the City Clerk's Office, located on the first floor of City Hall, 45 School St.

  Procurement is when government entities contract for supplies, equipment, services and real property. The procedures were established in the Procurement Act under the Massachusetts General Laws. Procurement aids in promoting free and open competition while at the same time preventing favoritism.
