Comprised of a combination of larger scale commercial, office and industrial/warehousing uses, and significant publicly-owned parcels, eight of the 29 buildings in the sub-district are publicly-owned. There are also several large surface parking lots located within the sub-district
Of the five sub-districts, the Downtown Core has the greatest allowable building scales and densities in order to match the existing building stock and to stimulate substantial private investment in downtown. Specific parcels within the sub-district have been identified for historic renovation.
