The Brockton Fire Department was upgraded in 2001 to an ISO Class 2 rating by the National Insurance Services Office Inc., an independent New Jersey-based company that provides industry-wide ratings for all insurance companies in the United States seeking detailed information on public safety capabilities of municipal fire fighting and prevention classification. Brockton’s upgrade makes it one of the 10 best in the state of Massachusetts.
Under the leadership of Chief Richard Francis, with the support of the Mayor and the City Council, Brockton’s Fire Department continues to strive to maintain Emergency Services during these difficult economic times to a diverse, multicultural population. We currently respond to 20,000 incidents per year.
The Brockton Fire Department trains on a daily basis to stay abreast of the latest firefighting and EMS techniques. It’s Fire Prevention and Code Enforcement Office works to maintain compliance with applicable state statutes and city ordinances to provide a safe environment for both residents and firefighters.
